The team and our new tradition, watching the Michael Jordan inspirational video to pump us up pre-game [please note KathHun too inspired by the video to pose for the pic]. I don't think it could be any more inspiring as we are 2-0 (in the past five days)! We totally Trojan Horse'd them, 52-48, much like the surprise attack of finding out we had a game today. Those Greeks, they're tricky gift-givers. Anyway, go Eagles.. taking over one country at a time.

Yup, das me.
Hittin' up the batting cages today, weird that softball season starts in two weeks! Photo and coaching credit to TW. But don't worry bballas, I'm still focusing on the current season. Ready to Trojan Horse the Trojans and Out-hoot the Owls this week! I would have made a great cheerleader.

Iconic.
Some before and after shots of the first AP Art Show! After 8 hours in the Frank Building in one day of guarding food, practicing talks, and mixing punch, it ended up being totally worth it. And you all sounded legit and artsy, which I believe was the goal. Congratulations guys!

Infinite Fist Pump!
Our whole team fist-pumping after an awesome win against Hockaday and a very awesome senior night (igloo?)!! From sweater vest Friday to facebook excited pics to MJ inspirational videos to a Holly sighting to beating St. Mark's.. it couldn't have been anymore awesome, or I would have died. And with all of the gifts and letters I received, I felt very loved. Plus it was Uncle Vic's birthday. So.. basically best day ever. [gatorade]

"THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!"
Jessie gets slightly perturbed when Mrs. NG informs us that our Shakespeare Project is due in a week.. and no other classes have even finished the book. We made many plans to just get up and walk out, stand up and yell the title quote, or stage some kind of mutiny. However, none of these things occurred. But Jessie did make this face.

Birthdays, Sickness, & Teamwork
Mandy was too sick to pose for a pic with her birthday balloon in Stats today.. so I instead got her coughing. For the time capsule: a lot of people are sick this week, including Andy Sahl, who is a follower of the blog! Missed you at small group! Feel better Andy and Mandy. Today we practiced some teamwork by doing homework as a team (get it? team-work?) before practice. Obviously Hannah has the need to succeed. Go enneagrams. Go homework. Go Wednesday.

The definition of suspense is..
<-- that. What is also suspenseful is when Catherine (here at church accompanied by no one) invites you as a guest to meet her small group and Max skips to watch the State of the Union address. Talk about a build-up of suspense. It's ok though because I got to psycho-analyze people I didn't know. Almost as good.

Because Camille is awesome.
There is one thing I think we all can agree on: Camille is the coolest. This is her imitation of Ellie's sexy face that she privileged the Mock Trial team with viewing.. I guess Morgan Dudley is the sexy-face-making type. It pretty much looked exactly like this impression, but don't let that stop you from bombarding Ellie with requests to see the original. Also, Camille is no doubt a superhero, but she has a sidekick in the form of a clip of my chill-tastic drive home due to Katherine Hunsaker and her special talent for CD making. Thanks KH! Another reason to love Camille is that she is a follower of this blog, and will definitely see your comments if you post how cool she is! Just a suggestion..

What we need to hear.
This post comes with a story. About two or three months ago, I was at a Chinese restaurant (probably having Happy Family knowing me), and I got a fortune cookie. Per usual, it had a fortune inside. It read: "On January 23, good things are in store for you." I decided to set a reminder on my phone since it had actually named a date; I'd never seen a fortune with such specifics before. Like most people do, I pretty much forgot about the fortune until about half an hour ago.. what an awesome reminder. It was what I needed to hear. Good things are in store. Sure, there will be bad things, too. Maybe even more bad than good. But good things will happen, I am reminded. And I believe that the good things make up for everything.

A new gnome, a new day.
Announcing the arrival of our newest lawn ornament, Albert, here pictured with his duck friend, Quack. (Not to worry, we wrote our address and phone number on the bottom). I feel like gnomes are going to have a resurgence (not that they ever had a de-surgence) with the newest movie, Gnomeo and Juliet, which will be some small child's (maybe named Collin?) first brush with Shakespeare. I really really hope that English classes will from now on get to watch the movie in class.. talk about changing the world for the better. It comes out February 11th, and Genie wants me to go see it for my birthday, which would be lovely, but I feel like the screen time of movies takes away from the quality time that I so enjoy. (First mention of birthday: 23 days in advance. Birthdayzilla coming out.) I'm thinking the 13th to celebrate our basketball championship. Eh? Irregardless (poor grammar courtesy of Taylor Mali, esp. Labeling Keys, thank you, Murphy), I'm lovin' our new gnome. Until next time.

Surprise appearances.
Attending the ESD vs. Greenhill soccer game, a 3-0 shutout, I might add, who would be there but Mr. Mrozek? Math jokes were told. Of course a family picture had to be snapped. (Photography credit- Sarah Sliva). Later at Mi Cocina, in pops Olivia (who else?) over courses of flautas and fajitas. She then proceeded to sit in our booth. We enjoyed chips and salsa, especially since it was infamous for being hot. Olivia likes spicy food.

The Bray at 8pm
Also known as the time and place that Mock Trial rules/lurks around campus. Pictured are the diseased but loveable Ellie, Cliff, and Madison. Bentley, Cliff's hormonal canine, was MIA. No objections from me.

Weekend well spent.
To culminate a weekend of sampling Thai food, trying the Pokey O's state fair cookie, sharing Sour Patch Kids during The King's Speech (which was great), amongst the other things you got to see, are some freshly baked brownies. Thank you, Martin Luther King, for the opportunity to nom. Oh and everything else.

Submit.
I checked the box! More of a major submit button than applications for sure. But I love those times when you can tell it's the right decision. So exciting! Gig 'Em Aggies!

All in a day's work.
A weekend is not complete without the item, a third-ever blizzard, some pleasant close-ups of photogenic friends, a visit from Coach Brown, attendance at the release of the new Sprinkles cupcake, bus days and nights, and an alleyway experience. <3 Oklahoma.

Say it with Legos!
An excerpt from the trip: Shannon and Olivia putting their school spirit to good use in the Lego Store on our basketball trip to Oklahoma City. Timmy was born shortly after. Check back tomorrow for more snapshots of the trip!

S'more-ing at school.
Kyle Waldrep makes study hall a little more graham-y, chocolate-y, and mallow-y. In other words, he s'mored in the commons. One of the most ingenious plans I've witnessed. I love ESD.

Rigor mortis.
After a particularly rough practice, Hannah, Catherine, and Sarah collapse to the ground in a state of rigor mortis. Somehow though, these survivors were able to rise again after their brief stint of clinical deadness, which is why, in their honor, I propose a round of fist pumps. It's what they would have wanted.

Britani's head getting eaten.
As the Class of '11 ce11ebrates the year of the Rabb11t for Chinese New Year, a seeming11y hungry dragon/dog eats Britani. Basica11y your typical Tuesday.

sNOw.
Many of you may have been expecting, maybe even hoping, for a picture of the day involving snow. Well, there is a picture involving snow.. but it may or may not be from last year. I also may or may not have thought about pretending it was from today, but this blog needs to be honest. We need to be able to trust each other, you and me. So, this is a quadpost. Ever heard of it? Me neither. I thought it might be good to truly document (by actually showing images of today), and yet not majorly disappoint (by showing at least some snow), the post for today. Maybe you agree? And don't you worry, though I didn't have snow, I did enjoy some noodly soup and a Gilmore Girls marathon, so no worries. Feel free to comment about snow, quadposts, lack of snow, fun snow activities (obviously not pictured here), the fact that a lot of words are trying to make up for the lack of snow on this post, or any and all other topics. In other words, commenting is totally cool. Like snow. So.. yea.

MarioKart
Bowser and Toad epically race in the good old-fashioned N64 form of brother-sister bonding. In the midst of chaos, bananas, shells, and upside-down question marks fly.

Wh-wh-wh-wh-welcome home!
Lauuura Brayton and Alice "#23" Kerr, legendary Eagle ballers, make the trip to Corsicana to cheer us on! Nota bene this picture is taken with the aid of bus lights because of the imminent darkness. Credit on the brainstorming of the brilliant title goes to Hannah Smith.

A couple lasts.
All mah seniors shouting "THREE FRENCH HENS!" during Mrs. Meier's classic "non-shouting-match" rendition of the 12 days of Christmas. Needless to say, the SKA lives on.
Hannah, Catherine, and Madi displaying the conundrum that is a key broken in half. Not pictured: Catherine showing off her guns that broke her key in half.

Intimidation factor.
Happy, Caroline, and EllsBells practicing their condescending glares, if they should ever need them. Who would you say is sassiest?

DEFENSE
Some ballers I know.. Sarah (a new one from yesterday) and Catherine (the same one from yesterday) are always "ready to play" even on the first day back from break. Sensing some Eagle Pride up in here..

Being woodsy.
A couple cameras, sweatpants, and some Chucks: this is what you don't see in the pictures. Taking a sec to document the fabulous behind-the-scenes of a nature photo shoot.

Happy 2011!
Post-New-Years bagel breakfast with ever-so-classic Murphy, LAX-er Szper (that is, the Los Angeles airport), and everyone's favorite auto, Stella.
